In loving memory

Sara

Rescued capuchin · 33 years of smiles

Sara has passed on. For 33 years she was Allen's closest companion and the heart of this foundation — a rescued capuchin who turned a hard beginning into a lifetime of giving.

She travelled thousands of miles across Nevada and beyond, helping raise money for wheelchairs for children and adults with disabilities. She sat on shoulders at firehouses, ballgames, hospitals and street corners, and strangers walked away lighter than they arrived.

She was never a pet or an act. She was a rescue who was given safety, patience and years, and who gave all of it back.

“Love isn't measured by size. It's measured by the lives you touch.”

Her name stays on the door. Every rescue we take in, every veteran we help keep their emotional support animal, every quiet day of sanctuary care is carried out in her memory — and continues now through Eris, our newly rescued spider monkey.

From the very beginning, she was small, gentle, and full of light. A rescued little soul who would grow into a lifetime of comfort, mischief, and purpose.

Heaven's Fields

In Heaven's fields of golden light,Where souls shine warm and ever bright,The angels sang, the saints all prayed,And flowers bloomed that never fade.

Yet God looked down, with knowing eyes,Beyond the clouds, across the skies. He smiled, though Heaven's joy was true,He said, "There's one more thing we're due."

A gentle spirit, small and sweet,With dancing eyes and quickened feet,A heart so pure, a laugh so free,A soul named Sara Marie.

She'd spread her joy in every place,With tender hands and warm embrace. Her chatter bright, her mischief kind,A blessing to both heart and mind.

So God reached down with loving care,And lifted Sara through the air.Now in the gardens, side by side,She walks with angels far and wide.

And though we miss her here below,We smile through tears because we know—In Heaven's plan, she's meant to be,God's precious monkey, Sara Marie.
