Who we are
Allen Sarac, A Monkeys Uncle
It started with one monkey named Sara. She arrived undernourished, over-handled and terrified of hands. Getting her to smile again took two years of patience — and it gave this work its name.
The Sara Smile Foundation is the primate rescue arm of the Arbecy Foundation, a Nevada nonprofit corporation formed on July 24, 2017. Allen Sarac serves as President and Director, with Lana Sarac as Secretary and LaToya Proctor as Treasurer.
Monkeys are not pets. They bite, they bond obsessively, and they live for decades. When an owner gives up, most animals have nowhere to go. We take the intake call, cover quarantine and veterinary work, rebuild trust, and then commit to the animal for life.
No monkey that comes through our gate is ever sold, bred or re-homed into private ownership.

Rescue
We respond to surrender calls, seizures and failing private collections across the Southwest.
Rehabilitate
Quarantine, veterinary care, species-appropriate diet, and slow behavioral rebuilding.
Sanctuary for life
Permanent enrichment-rich habitat and companionship. No breeding, no sale, no public handling.
